Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about LinkedIn outreach: what still works, what LinkedIn actually permits, why acceptance rates are falling everywhere, and how I run it.
LinkedIn outreach, the honest answers
Does LinkedIn outreach still work in 2026?
Yes, when the list is narrow and the follow-up continues past the second message. Across 932 outreach sequences run from my own account, 377 got a reply and 75 booked a call, about 1 in 12. The campaigns that fail almost always fail at follow-up rather than at targeting, because most buyers answer the third or fourth message, not the first.
Should I add a note to a connection request?
It depends which number you care about. The published data is consistent: a note slightly lowers acceptance and roughly doubles the reply rate afterward. Belkins measured 25.3 percent acceptance with a note against 27.6 percent without, and 8.2 percent replies against 5.3, across 11.5 million requests. If you want connections, send blank. If you want conversations, write the note.
How many connection requests can I send in a day?
LinkedIn publishes no number. The 100 a week repeated across the industry cannot be sourced to any LinkedIn page. What LinkedIn does say is that restrictions follow sending many invitations in a short period, and that invitations left ignored or pending count against you. It also says it will not lift a restriction on request, and that withdrawing an invitation blocks you from re-inviting that person for up to three weeks.
Why is my LinkedIn acceptance rate so low?
Some of it is the platform, not you. Expandi measured connection-note reply rates falling from 3.5 percent to 2.2 percent across 13.2 million requests in twelve months. The rest is usually list quality, an opener that could have been sent to anyone, or a mismatch between your profile and what your message asks for. My own rate fell from 58.8 percent in January to about 11 percent by September, on the same account.
Why does nobody reply to my LinkedIn messages?
Usually the first eight words. Open your inbox and count the messages starting with your first name and a thank-you for connecting. Every one of those is sorted into the pitch pile before it is read. The other common killer is the closing line: anything like let me know if you would like to connect further hands the reader a job to do, and nobody does homework for a stranger.
Will LinkedIn restrict my account for using automation?
It can. LinkedIn's terms prohibit tools that automate activity, and its help pages say violators risk having accounts restricted or shut down. In the second half of 2025 LinkedIn reported blocking 97.8 percent of fake accounts automatically. The practical risk is volume and sameness rather than the existence of a tool, which is why sending stays inside human limits here and every message is written for one person.
How do I tell if a LinkedIn message was written by AI?
The tells are structural. Over-explaining, a compliment before the ask, and sentences that all run the same length. Originality.ai found 81.2 percent of 5,000 long-form LinkedIn posts were likely AI in July 2026. LinkedIn itself shipped a report button for AI slop and more than a million people used it in the first two weeks, which tells you how the audience feels about it.
How I run it
Do you write the messages, or does software?
I write them, from research on the person receiving them. The sending runs through a tool and I draft with AI assistance, and I would rather say that plainly than claim a purity nobody in this field actually has. The part that matters is the unit of work: one script per named prospect, built from their company and their situation, not a template with a merge field.
What do I actually have to do?
Record one short video per prospect from a script I write, and take the calls that book. That is the whole job. I build the list, send the requests, run the follow-up and administer the booking link. The video is the one thing that cannot be delegated, and it is the reason the replies come.
Should I hire an agency, a virtual assistant, or run it myself?
Run it yourself if your market is small or you are still learning your buyer's objections, because that learning is worth more than the hours. A virtual assistant can send, but will not make judgment calls on replies. Hand it over when the honest answer is that nobody on your team is going to send the fourth follow-up in a busy week.
How do I know a LinkedIn lead generation agency is legit?
Ask for their own funnel. Most cannot show you one. Then ask three things: whether they will define a qualified call in writing before any outreach starts, whether the guarantee has a defined remedy rather than the word results, and whether you keep the contact list and conversation history when it ends. A vendor whose data is proprietary to their platform is renting you a pipeline you can never keep.
What counts as a qualified call?
A decision-maker who fits your target and agreed to a real meeting. It is defined in writing at your audit, before outreach starts, and calls book through a link carrying your own qualification questions so both of us count the same thing. Not a survey, not a tire-kicker, not someone who cannot buy.
The offer and the guarantee
How does the guarantee work?
I book you 30 qualified sales calls in 60 days on LinkedIn. Guaranteed. You record short daily videos at a pace we set on your audit call. I run everything else. Miss the number and I keep working free for up to 30 more days, and the second half of your fee never comes due. Your exact target is set in writing at your audit. It is continued work, not a refund.
What do I pay before I see results?
Half the build fee at signature, and your paid audit credits against it. The second half is billed only when your guaranteed calls are on your calendar, and the monthly retainer starts only after that. If the calls do not come, I keep working free for up to 30 more days, and if they still do not come the second half is never billed. Book a call and I will give you a straight number.
Who do you work with?
Small business owners who sell a real service to other businesses and can close on a call. If you sell to consumers, or to trades who do not keep a LinkedIn profile, the channel is wrong and no amount of good messaging fixes that. I would rather say so than take the engagement.
Is Veteran Vectors really veteran-owned?
Yes. A NaVOBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Enterprise and a Disability:IN-certified Disability-Owned Business Enterprise, founded by a Naval Academy graduate who spent nine years in the Navy as a submarine officer and nuclear engineer.
What happens after my pipeline is full?
That part is optional. Once calls are booking, most owners want the follow-up, the CRM and the reporting to run without them. I build that inside the tools you already use, Microsoft 365 or Notion, and manage it. It is never a condition of the outreach work.
How do we get started?
Book a call. We go over what you sell and who you want in front of, and I show you exactly how the guarantee works for your business.
