From Submarines to Software That Talks
I run Veteran Vectors. I connect the software a business already owns, so the same information stops getting entered in two places and the job someone does by hand every week runs on its own. Before this I spent nine years as a Navy submarine officer, after the Naval Academy in 2014. I'm based in the Chicago area and work with businesses anywhere in the US.
The thing I kept from that job is pretty plain. A process only works if it runs the same way every time and somebody can see what happened. Most small businesses run on people remembering to do things. That works until the person who remembers is out sick, buried in other work or gone.
Why I Started Veteran Vectors
Most owners I meet already pay for good tools: a CRM, an accounting system, email, a calendar. The tools just don’t share information. So someone on the team enters the same thing in two places every week, and the hours add up without anyone noticing.
I fix that one job at a time. I sit with the person who does it, time it, and build it to run on the tools you already pay for, in your own accounts, so you own it.
How It Works
- A free call: you tell me which job eats the most hours on your team, and I tell you whether it’s worth a closer look.
- A paid diagnostic: I map that one job with the person who does it. The fee comes off the build.
- One fixed price in writing: half at signature, half at go-live, which means it’s running on your real work and the person who did it by hand is using it.
- An optional care plan: month to month. It keeps the build running, covers small changes, and comes with a one-page report each month showing what ran.
What I Bring to the Table
- Built on what you already pay for: Microsoft 365 or Google, QuickBooks, your CRM. If a job really needs one more tool, you hear that in the diagnostic, with the reason, before you pay for a build.
- Yours to keep: it’s built in your own accounts, and the person who did the job gets trained on it at handover.
- One job at a time: a fixed scope and a fixed price, so you know what you’re getting before the build starts.
